The Bucket List: July 12, 2020

We at The Bucket have decided to start a weekly list-of-new-music series titled “The Bucket List.” We’ve attempted to compile relatively- and less-well-known releases by important and impressive artists. This is going to be a weekly thing but the format might change a bit in the meantime (may shorten it, may just list individual songs from each release, etc.). This is also in no particular order. Anyway, here goes.
From NPR, Pitchfork, and general intuition:
Rufus Wainwright — Unfollow the Rules
Apollo Brown & Ché Noir — As God Intended
The Beths — Jump Rope Gazers
My Morning Jacket — The Waterfall II
Jimmie Allen — Bettie James
Julianna Barwick — Healing Is a Miracle
Joshua Redman, Brad Mehldau, Christian McBride & Brian Blade — RoundAgain
Sufjan Stevens — “My Rajneesh”
Asher Gamedze — Dialectic Soul
Dinner Party (Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin, Kamasi Washington, 9th Wonder) — Dinner Party
DMA’S — The Glow
The Jayhawks — XOXO
Kestrels — Dream or Don’t Dream
Sahbabii — Barnacles
Summer Walker — Life on Earth
100 gecs — 1000 gecs and The Tree of Clues
Future Islands — “For Sure”
Foster the People — “The Things We Do”
Beck, Khruangbin — “No Distraction (Khruangbin Remix)”
The Avett Brothers — “Victory”
The Flaming Lips — “Dinosaurs on the Mountain”
Wye Oak, Brooklyn Youth Chorus — “AEIOU”
Loods — Gummi EP
Good Song: “Hot!” (the rest of the EP’s three songs are on this channel)
