our collection
The Record Library is home to thousands of records and CDs, most of which are promotional recordings that the station has received over the years (some of the vinyl promo track-lists still have pluses and minuses or other assessments that were scribbled by their original reviewers). Because of this, what we have generally skews toward deeper cuts – perfect for the DJ hoping to find new and interesting sounds to play on KRLX. 12″ LPs make up the majority of our vinyl, plus a fair amount of 12″ singles and 7″s. We have discs in just about every genre – rock, r&b, blues, jazz, folk, country, classical, hip-hop, dance, comedy, and beyond.
Come in and borrow CDs and vinyl for up to 10 days at a time, take a few albums over to the DJ booth for your show, import CDs and convert vinyl to mp3, or just hang out and listen to some music.
our space
Open whenever a Record Librarian is in. Specific hours vary from term to term, and are posted as soon as they are finalized. The Record Libe opens and closes for the term as KRLX goes on and then off air. The space features a comfy couch and chairs, a turntable and a sound-system for all of your listening/chilling needs.
where we are
In the basement of Sayles. On your left as you enter KRLX.
who works here
Rad Record Librarians! Many students donate a little bit of their time each week to help keep the Record Libe running by cataloging, cleaning up or hanging out:)
