I recently discovered that Carleton’s archives did a great public service by scanning and uploading countless yearbooks onto their database AND that these said yearbooks are accessible to all students.
While this might not seem like a big deal, I think it’s really cool! And not just because I wanted to see pictures of my mom when she went here. But I won’t lie, that was a big motivating factor. (Hi mom! You looked great in your senior pic!!)
I’m mostly just bummed that yearbooks are no longer a thing in college! They were really fun to look through and see the evolution of the hair, the vernacular, and most importantly, the radio station.
What did KRLX look like back in the day? A whole lot cleaner, is what I discovered. But that’s part of the charm right? Anyway. Here’s what I found through my deep dive. Enjoy!
For good measure I included the poster our current Promotions Director, Katie Williams ’18 made of the current Board of Directors. I too, wish I looked as cool as Paco Alvarez.
